Background
The main company within Groupe Rosa is Linvosges. It was founded in 1923 by Charles Prudent in the Vosges town of Gérardmer, in Eastern France.
For over 100 years, the company’s mission has been to keep French textile tradition and know-how alive, notably via the “Jours Venise” range which is still produced in its Gérardmer studio.
Groupe Rosa has around 350 employees, of which around 300 work on the Linvosges brand. Linvosges textiles are for all parts of the home, with a focus on bed- and bath-linen.
Challenge
In response to growing customer calls for more transparency around Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Group, under the leadership of its President and Linvosges’ CEO, saw a chance to strengthen its already environmentally-conscious business ethos.
As a result, in 2022, Groupe Rosa began tracking its carbon footprint, and created an action plan which was validated by the SBTi. This aligned the Group’s aims with the Paris Agreement and established science-based targets for emissions reduction.
However, Groupe Rosa had never calculated its own carbon footprint before, having previously reported on ESG metrics in spreadsheet format via its investor’s systems.
The company uses various IT tools across its different departments, which meant that the sustainability data logged within them had to be manually collated in order to achieve effective company-level reporting. This left the process open to errors, and placed great time demands on the team responsible for collating the data.
